Dating up to 25 women in one night---most men would call it a dream come true. The owners of Single in the City call it a modern alternative to dating.

Laura Bilotta and Melissa Seifert, owners of Single in the City, have taken the concept of speed dating and taken it up a notch---four minutes to be exact.

Single in the City now offers lock and key minglers, activities and getaways for singles. They encourage you to become a member: it’s free, and they’ll keep you in the loop with new and exciting ventures.
How does a dating party work?

Up to 50 single men and women meet at an upscale location and then get divvied up, with women on one side of the tables, men across from them. Couples then “date” for four minutes until a whistle is blown, and then the men move to the next lady-in-waiting.<br><br>
Each participant carries a supplied match card and marks whether they’d like to see that person again. Once the marking is complete, a new date continues.

At the end of the evening, the cards are collected and matches are determined. A match occurs when both parties circle “yes” on their card. An email is then sent to the participants within 48 hours notifying them of any matches. It is up to the individuals to initiate future dates.
Since their launch in May 2002, Single in the City boasts an 80% match success rate, and has brought together more than 70 couples, as well as many sold out events.

The time limit is kept at four minutes to not only increase the odds of finding someone, but also to keep the evening on a schedule.

Single in the City hosts events at Chapters/Indigo and restaurant/bars in Toronto, Barrie, Durham Region, Woodbridge, Mississauga, Brampton, Oakville, Burlington, Hamilton.

Single in the City’s next Toronto dating event is Thu. June 5 at Revival, 783 College St.
