Hello everyone, I am a male in my mid-20s.
I am considering attending my first speed dating event but have noticed that many have an age range from the mid 20s to high 30s.
I have an inquiry that I hope someone who has attended these events can clarify. It seems a bit of wide scope of an age gap allowance. I'm certainly not saying that mid 20 year olds and someone who is almost 40 cannot connect but it seems a bit atypical.
I recognize that these events are also for meeting new people but there is also the element of hoping to meet someone you could date and as I said it's not common for someone in their mid-20s to be dating someone in their mid to high 30s, well at least for something long-term.
Does the age disparity make any kind of impact on the nature of the event? It seems that keeping a mid-20s to low-30s bracket and a mid-30s to high-30s bracket would be expected but there's a seemingly daunting 10 year gap. I am simply concerned that as a mid-20something male it would be bit of a problem to connect with an older female who is in a very different stage in their life in their 30s or so. |

| As someone who attended a number of SD events in the past let me tell you that you will meet plenty of women in their mid to late twenties. Age is not an obstacle to connecting and someone older can have comparable goals and life experience to yours. And don't rule out dating someone a bit older as well. Dating a much older woman when I was 27 was the better thing that happened to me ... ever |
